This policy explains what happens to your data when you visit codeofthegeeks.com. It is short, because this is a brochure website that collects very little.

Code of the Geeks B.V. is the data controller for this website. The activities presented here — Code of the Geeks Cleaning and General Merchandise, and the engineering consultancy — operate under that company.
This is why you are not asked to accept cookies. That request exists because most sites store something on your device; this one does not.
The pages on this site load their web font from Google Fonts. This means Google receives your IP address and browser information when the font is fetched, and its own privacy policy applies to that request. Everything else — styles, scripts and images — is served from our own server.
This site is hosted on the webhosting platform of STRATO AG, which operates the web server on our behalf. As part of running that platform, STRATO keeps standard access logs of the requests the server receives. A log entry records the page requested, the date and time, whether the request succeeded, how much data was sent, the browser's own description of itself, and the IP address of the visitor.
We do not add any logging of our own, and we do not build visitor profiles from these logs. Where we look at them at all, it is in aggregate — which pages are popular, and which requests produced errors. Retention and the technical handling of these logs are determined by STRATO as part of its hosting service; details are set out in STRATO's own privacy information.
Why we are allowed to do this. Keeping a website secure and working, and understanding how it is used, is a legitimate interest of ours under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. No identifier is stored on your device.
When you write to us at the addresses on this site, we keep your message and your address so we can reply and, where it concerns work we do together, keep a record of what was agreed. We use these only to correspond with you, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
Our engineering consultancy site at codeofthegeeks.nl is hosted the same way as this one and has its own privacy policy.
Our free online tools at tools.codeofthegeeks.com are covered by their own privacy policy, and it is stricter than this one in two ways: that site runs on a server we administer ourselves, where visitors' IP addresses are discarded before anything is written to disk, and it loads no third-party resources at all. Most of the tools themselves process your files entirely inside your own browser; where a tool needs server-side processing power instead, its own page says so.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of personal data we hold about you, to object to processing based on legitimate interest, and to receive a copy of your data. Email info@codeofthegeeks.com and we will respond within one month.
You have the right to complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl), if you think we have handled your data improperly.
This site is hosted on the webhosting platform of STRATO AG (Berlin, Germany), which operates the web server and acts as a processor on our behalf. Servers and data stay within the EU. STRATO publishes its own privacy information covering how it runs that platform.
If we add anything that collects more than the above — analytics, ads, or forms — we will update this policy before that change goes live, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
